Out of 10,000 CryptoPunks, the algorithm handed out some wild combinations. Mohawks. Gold chains. Beanies. Laser eyes. Cigarettes. And then there are a handful of punks who got the full treatment — Clown Hair and a Clown Nose.
Not one or the other. Both. At the same time. On the same face.
There are only 4 of them in existence. While most punks are trying to look cool, mysterious, or at least vaguely intimidating, these four went a completely different direction. No ambiguity. No subtlety. Just a literal clown, minted on the Ethereum blockchain in 2017, permanent and immovable, forever.
The thing is — that kind of full commitment to the bit has its own kind of charm. In a collection built on identity and self-expression, the clown punks are the ones who didn't blink. They leaned in. And in a space where everyone is flexing rare traits and serious floor prices, owning one of these is a statement of a very different kind: I'm not like the others. And I know it.
One of them is female. One is currently listed for nearly 200 ETH. None of them are for sale cheaply. Because even clowns, it turns out, are scarce.
